Web Mockup Pro Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 23, 2025

Web Mockup Pro ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Web Mockup Pro Chrome extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, shares, and protects user data in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. By using the Extension, you agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

1. Data We Collect

The Extension collects the following data to provide its core functionality of capturing full-page screenshots and creating professional web mockups:

  • Web Page Screenshots: When you initiate a capture, the Extension collects screenshots of the active web page in desktop (1366px), tablet (768px), and mobile (375px) resolutions using the Chrome DevTools Protocol.
  • Active Tab URL: The URL of the active tab is collected to associate screenshots with the captured page and include it in metadata.
  • Local Configuration Settings: Optional settings (e.g., user preferences for capture options) may be stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, health data, or personal identifiers unless explicitly provided by you in the captured web content (e.g., if a screenshot includes visible personal information).

2. How We Use Your Data

The data collected by the Extension is used solely to provide and improve its single purpose: capturing and generating professional web mockups. Specifically:

  • Screenshots: Used to create high-quality mockups in multiple device formats, which are stitched locally in your browser and optionally saved or uploaded.
  • Active Tab URL: Included in metadata to identify the captured page and provide context for the mockups.
  • Local Configuration Settings: Stored to maintain your preferences across sessions for a consistent user experience.

We limit our use of data to the practices disclosed in this policy and do not use data for purposes unrelated to the Extension’s functionality, such as personalized advertising, credit-worthiness determination, or lending.

3. Data Sharing

The Extension shares data only as necessary to provide its functionality or comply with legal requirements:

  • With Our API: Screenshots and the active tab URL are uploaded to our secure server at https://webmockup.pro/api/captures/upload when you choose to save or share mockups. This data is stored securely and associated with a unique identifier for access via https://webmockup.pro/captures/[UUID].
  • Third Parties: We do not share your data with third parties (e.g., advertising platforms, data brokers, or information resellers) unless:
    • It is necessary to improve the Extension’s functionality (e.g., server-side processing for mockup storage).
    • Required to comply with applicable laws.
    • Part of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, with your explicit prior consent.
  • Human Access: Data is not read by humans unless:
    • You provide explicit consent (e.g., for support purposes).
    • It is aggregated and anonymized for internal analytics to improve the Extension.
    • Necessary for security (e.g., investigating abuse) or legal compliance.

4. Limited Use Compliance

The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

  • We do not use or transfer user data for purposes beyond providing or improving the Extension’s functionality.
  • We do not use data for personalized advertisements or sell it to third parties.
  • Data transfers to our API are encrypted and limited to what is necessary for mockup storage and retrieval.

5. Data Security

We prioritize the security of your data:

  • Screenshots and URLs are processed locally in your browser and transmitted to our API using HTTPS with modern cryptography.
  • Authentication tokens are used to secure API communications and are not publicly disclosed.
  • We implement reasonable measures to protect data from unauthorized access or disclosure.

6. User Control and Consent

  • Consent: The Extension only collects data when you explicitly initiate a capture by clicking "Start Capture" in the popup. A tip in the interface advises closing modals or cookie banners to avoid capturing unintended personal data.
  • Data Removal: You can delete uploaded mockups via the Web Mockup Pro platform (https://webmockup.pro). Locally stored settings can be cleared by resetting the Extension or uninstalling it.
  • No Web Browsing Activity: We do not collect or use web browsing activity beyond the active tab’s URL and content required for screenshot capture.

7. Third-Party Links

The Extension may direct you to our website (https://webmockup.pro) to view or manage your mockups. This Privacy Policy does not cover third-party websites linked from captured pages. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of those sites.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or Chrome Web Store requirements. The latest version will be available at https://webmockup.pro/privacy and linked in the Chrome Web Store listing. Significant changes will be communicated via the Extension or our website.
